Privacy Policy — Cross Stitch Companion

Cross Stitch Companion ("the app", published on Google Play as Cross Stitch Pattern Keeper) does not require an account and does not collect personal data about you. The one exception is the advertising service described below, which is operated by Google and has its own policy.

Your files and your progress

The PDF charts you import, the patterns you unlock from the built-in library, your projects, and your stitch progress are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to us or to any server, and we have no way to see them. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted along with it.

Data we collect

None. We operate no servers and no accounts for this app, so no data about you reaches us.

Advertising

Patterns from the built-in library are unlocked by watching a short video ad. These ads are served by Google AdMob. To show an ad, the app connects to the internet and the AdMob SDK may collect and process device and usage data — such as the advertising identifier, IP address, device characteristics, and interactions with the ad — in order to deliver, limit, and measure advertising. This processing is carried out by Google as an independent party, under its own terms.

SeeGoogle's Privacy PolicyandHow Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. On most Android devices you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Watching an ad unlocks a pattern that already ships inside the app — no pattern files are downloaded from us, and nothing about your projects is sent with the ad request.

Working offline

Outside of showing an ad, the app works without a connection. Importing and viewing your own charts, marking stitches, and tracking progress never require the internet.

Data we share

We share nothing, because we receive nothing. The only data leaving the device is what the Google AdMob SDK sends when an ad is requested, as described above.

Analytics

The app uses no analytics or user-tracking tools of our own. We do not build profiles of users and do not receive reports about how individual people use the app.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Ads are served by Google under its own policies and advertising restrictions.

Changes to this policy

If the app's functionality changes in a way that affects data handling — for example when the planned subscription is introduced — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
